Tools

Petstablished https://awo.petstablished.com

  • How we are using the tool: to manage all dog profiles and keep the team informed about the behavior, medication, diet, and special circumstances for new, current, or incoming dogs at The Ranch

  • The data you need to enter into the tool: behavior notes and pictures of vet records

  • You will receive an email from Petstablished with instructions about how to create your profile

Google Calendar

  • How we are using the tool: to communicate appointments, vet trips, and meet and greets

  • Kristin will send a calendar invite from the rescue gmail to your personal gmail with the start time of the appointment, location of appointment, and any notes about the appointment details.

Gusto https://app.gusto.com/

  • How we are using the tool: to track employee hours worked and process direct deposit payroll.

  • You will receive an email from Gusto with instructions about how to create your profile


Getting Paid

We use Gusto https://app.gusto.com/ for our employee time card and direct deposit payroll services.

You will keep track of your time. Your hours need to be submitted by the end of your planned shift every day.

You will be paid on Fridays for the hours you worked the previous week.

Prior to your start date you will receive an email from Gusto with instructions on how to set up your direct deposit and profile. Please download the Gusto mobile app for time tracking.


Shadowing

Before your start date for volunteering or employment we require you complete 3 shadow sessions. Ideally, you should shadow 3 different people. To set up your shadowing session just email Kristin through the rescue email and let her know your availability to shadow during these times:

  • Monday-Friday, 1-5PM (Shadowing Jenna)

  • Saturday and Sunday, 9-2PM (Shadowing Amanda)


Shifts + Activities

Here are the main shifts that we run and the activities that need to be completed each shift:

  1. Morning 7am - 12pm

  2. Day 1pm - 5pm

  3. Evening 7pm-10pm

Activities to be completed each shift. Activities are sequential and should be completed in the order detailed below:

  • Quick potty shifts

    • Put dog out on line out back door

  • Check bedding, crate, and bowls

    • Move crate, clean if needed, shake out bedding, if wet or dirty bedding - swap bedding

    • Replace toys and give bone or kong with peanut butter

  • Feed breakfast and fill water

    • Check petstablished to see what the dog is eating.

    • Feed each dog common food unless otherwise specified, fill water.

    • Give medicine if specified on petstablished

  • 1:1 walks and\or pen time

    • Leash walk dog on ranch property or play in pen

    • Each dog needs 1-2 sessions outside each shift.

    • If there are any observed behavior or medical issues, please document in the dog’s profile on petstablished.

      • Document behavior concerns under behavior tracking notes

      • Document medical concerns under medical tracking notes

  • Take care of Tom Brady

    • Scoop kitty litter, refill dry food and refill water

    • All supplies located in kitty room

    • Note: if there is a dog that is not cat friendly, Tom Brady should be in his room during dog shits.

  • Scoop poop

    • Scoop poop from back of barn and pen into garbage bag , garbage bag goes into dumpster.

  • Clean dishes

    • Soak dirty dishes in soapy water

    • Clean dirty dishes and put clean dishes upstairs

  • Refill supplies: food, towel, cleaner, etc.

    • Refill common food bin with a chicken food

    • Refill towel \ bedding bin

    • Refill treats bin

    • If cleaning solution is empty, refill. Only use one bottle of cleaner at a time.

  • Empty sink water bin

    • Dump bin of water from under sink near woods-line behind barn

  • All trash needs to go to dumpster each shift

    • Bag up trash and bedding and put in dumpster

    • Cardboard can be put into dumpster without bag

  • Sweep and\or mop areas

    • Broom and mop are located under stairs

    • Dump water from mop each use near woods-line behind barn

    • Ring out mop each use

  • Appointments

    • Any scheduled appointments such as the vet, meet and greets, etc. will be communicated through email and calendar.
