Wait List
We approve a wait list spot for some dogs and families who are good candidates for the wait list program. If we offer you to this opportunity to you it means:
Even though we don’t have space for your dog at The Ranch, we have resources and time to accomodate hosting you for sessions and meet and greets.
We think you can manage your dog and follow our processes and exercises.
We think your dog is an “easy adopt” meaning they do not have severe behavioral issues that will prolong the process of finding a family for your dog.
About this engagement
By entering this engagement with Second Chance Ranch Rescue you agree to the following terms:
You agree to maintain ownership of your dog. You are responsible for your dogs actions at all times (at The Ranch, at you home, and in public.)
You agree to show up for all meets and appointments. If you can’t make it, you will give us 24 hours notice.
You agree to work explicitly with Second Chance Ranch Rescue. You will not work with other rescues to place your dog. We ask you for this explicit partnership because if we are socializing your dog and sharing your dog with our network, if you back out - it will harm our reputation and our network of loyal and devoted followers.
You agree you will not give your dog away, sell your dog on facebook, or rehome your dog yourself.
You agree that the dog will remain in your custody until we can take the dog into The Ranch or until we approve an adopter for your dog to go home with.
You agree that Second Chance Ranch Rescue has sole authority to choose and approve an adopter for your dog. We will of course take your perspectives into consideration but you agree to default to our expertise and background to make the final decision on an adopter.
You agree to not contact future families who you may end up meeting during meet and greets. It is important to us to protect your information and to protect adopters information.
Upon our team identifying a family for your dog, you agree to surrender the dog and to give up all rights to the dog.
You agree that we have no obligation to contact you or to keep you updated on the dog. We try to give updates when we have them to help families through the emotional aspect of surrender, but we can not commit to any formal updates.
Wait List Agreement
The following information is redundant and the exact same as the surrender form you may have filled out for your dog. Please fill out this form entirely. This acts as an explicit agreement that we are offering you a spot on our wait list and we will work with you to rehome your dog as if you were a foster.
Please do not submit applications via mobile phone as we may not receive it. You should see an automated “Thank you” message after you hit submit. If you do NOT see that message, your application is incomplete – please go back and look for errors in red. Do NOT close the browser until you see the automated “thank you” message. Thank you!
